Local dashboard

When you're on-site with your unit, open its built-in live dashboard directly — no account needed. This connects to the system over its own network for real-time power, battery, and solar data.

Default is venus.local. If that doesn't load, use the unit's IP address (on its own WiFi the default is 172.24.24.1).

The dashboard is served by the unit itself and opens in a new tab. You must be connected to the same network as the system (for rentals, join the unit's WiFi). Remote monitoring from anywhere is handled through VRM instead.

Older firmware (Venus OS < 3.50)?

If the standard button shows no data, your unit may run older firmware. Open in compatibility mode — this points the app at the unit's direct websocket port.

1 · Connect to the unit

Join the system's local network — for a rental unit, connect your phone or laptop to the unit's WiFi (network name and password are on the unit / in your rental docs).

2 · Open the dashboard

Tap Open local dashboard above. You'll see live output, state of charge, solar input, and system status straight from the unit — no login required on-site.

Away from the unit?

The local dashboard only works on-site. To check your system from anywhere, use the VRM portal — we grant your VRM account access for your rental period.

Node-RED & Signal K

If your unit runs the Venus OS Large firmware, you can open its Node-RED and Signal K tools to build automation flows, custom dashboards, and data integrations — using the same unit address you entered above.

Node-RED editor

Build and edit automation flows with the Victron nodes — triggers, logic, alerts, and integrations. Opens the flow editor on your unit.

Node-RED dashboard

Your custom live dashboard built in Node-RED — gauges, charts, and controls (the /ui view).

Signal K admin

Configure the Signal K server — data connections, plugins, and marine/nav app feeds over WiFi.

Requires Venus OS Large with Node-RED and Signal K enabled (on the unit: Remote Console → Settings → Venus OS Large). You must be on the unit's network. The Node-RED editor uses a secure self-signed certificate, so your browser will ask you to confirm the connection the first time — that's expected. Set a password on each tool the first time you open it.
